Rational Reasoning in MultiAgent Systems |
Dozent:Dr. rer. nat. Nico Potyka |
Veranstaltungstyp:Seminar (Offizielle Lehrveranstaltungen) |
Beschreibung:Prerequisites: Students should be comfortable with formal approaches.

A multi-agent system consists of multiple intelligent agents that interact while trying to satisfy certain goals. Agents can be threads in a software environment, robots in a physical environment or individuals in a social environment. Goals can be very specific tasks like finishing a job or persuading someone of your opinion; but there are also rather vague goals like finding a consensus in negotiation. Agents' behaviour can be cooperative when trying to satisfy joint goals or competitive when competing for limited resources. In this seminar, we will cover formal approaches that can be used to guide (but also to explain) agents' behaviour in some rational way. In particular, we will look at ideas from game theory, social-choice theory, decision theory and abstract argumentation. |
