Beschreibung

This is a tutorial course to help students of Cognitive Science to learn techniques of academic writing.

Success in the university depends largely on the ability to write well, as a student. Different academic tasks require
different writing skills. This course is designed as a workshop that aims at developing students' ability to write
purposefully and persuasively. Highlights of the course include:
– Efficient use of the library for research
– Techniques of academic writing
– Scholarly referencing and bibliographical methods
The course will be participatory in nature and each participant is expected to come along with, at least, THREE
previously written term papers for discussion purposes only.
COURSE CURRICULUM
The course is structured into three parts. Part 1 introduces students to the art and act of writing. Part 2 presents the
grammatical and structural requirements of a good academic paper. Part 3 provides the formal features of academic
writing and bibliographical methods.
