ATTENTION: This study project is for Cognitive Computing Master's students ONLY!
ZF Friedrichshafen wants to develop a system to measure and rate the condition of chassis components for commercial and passenger vehicles. Thus, the research question here ends in: The project team is going to define a process chain to gather, pre-process and analyse test stand data to find a way to archive a classification for the parts condition. The basic thesis here reads as follows: First of all, the project team is going to analyse the available state of the art in literature and market. In parallel the project team needs to set up a suitable sensor system. Here the project team can access experience from other projects. Afterwards test stand trials need to be processed. The project team needs to decide here which parts and test setups should be chosen. In parallel a suitable approach needs to be defined how to and where to safe the data. Finally, the project team has to define a suitable way to analyse the data, for example with neural networks or methods of machine learning. As a first target, the algorithm should be able to differ between a new bearing and a worn-out bearing. A plus would be, if the algorithm would be able to rate the conditions in between the two beforehand mentioned, like 50% of life expectancy with a confidence level of 95%. This project should serve as a prearrangement for related projects in near future and should finally give a detailed perspective on possible next steps.
